During the pandemic a lot of things changes and I got a lot more time to study areas of history that I am interested in. The events of the 8th June 1940 have always been something I wanted to research more and the national lockdown meant I had more time at home to read up on the subject and the events of that day.
As a offshore surveyor with experience finding historic wrecks I would like to identify the final positions of Glorious, Acasta and Ardent. Finding and studying the wrecks would enable us to compare the historical data from the battle to each of the wrecks. There are many controversies that surround the loss of these ships and their crews and some could be solved by studying the wrecks and there position.
However, there are many ethical questions surrounding the locating of these historic ships. Some will agree and others will disagree. However, many of the myths and controversies of that day will continue while the data isn’t available
